First, Atlantis was a continental realm that was located westward from the Old World Mediterranean area. The continental realm of Atlantis is now believed to be the New World American Continents.
Second, Atlantis was also once a magnificent prehistoric capital seaport and major trading center that was located within the American Continents at a specific location near the coast and adjacent to a flat plain which had a mountain range that protected the area from cold northern winds.
That specific location is now believed to be a site area in Central America on a major earthquake fault-line in which the elusive seaport city is now buried under tons of swamp mud near a large Guatemalan lake which leads to the Caribbean Sea.
And third, Atlantis was once a great trans-continental maritime kingdom that once governed both the New World and the Old World in antediluvian times.
The native inhabitants of this global maritime kingdom were known as the Atlanteans (Land of the Ten Kings) and once used a common binary language and phonetic alphabet now known as Ogam to communicate between the many colonial outpost of the kingdom.

How and when was Atlantis lost in time?
Plato's records suggest that the seaport city of Atlantis was quickly engulfed by global earthquakes and floods some nine-thousand years before the story was first told.
It is now believed that the Biblical Flood event was the same global flood event that engulfed the seaport city of Atlantis -- and that a rare astrophysical event was the caused of the global flooding incident. The rare astrophysical event that is believed to have caused both the destruction of the Atlantean seaport and the Biblical Flood is believed to be the result of when a large rouge comet collided with the electromagnetic solar surface which in turn caused a large solar flare event that "burned" the upper atmosphere of earth and melted polar ice into catastrophic global storms.
