  Compiler’s Comments: Our total of 76 species is very good for this count, only one below our all-time high of 77 in 2002. The highlight of the list is the inclusion of four different warbler species – Yellow-rumped, Pine, and Palm Warblers, plus Common Yellowthroat. The only other real surprises were the birds that were missing, at least three of which (Northern Raven, Barred Owl, and Red-breasted Nuthatch) are known to be here in the count circle but were not found on count day. Others missed included Wilson’s Snipe, which was not uncovered despite diligent searching in likely areas; Eurasian Collared-Dove, not seen locally during the past six months; and the Snow Goose and Ross’s Goose which were both here in early December but have not been located since. Of course there were no "northern finches" either; except for brief visits from some Purple Finches in early December, we have not seen these formerly-abundant birds at all this year, and it has been several years since we’ve had any sort of invasion at all.
